The annual cost for a new Scout is approximately $200.00. A break-down of costs is as follows:
- Approximately $150 to the National BSA organization when you submit your one-time application for your Cub. The BSA fees cover the many scout camps around the country as well as the scouts education development programs, extensive adult safety and leadership training and the many other resources we need to run an effective program.
- $50.00 to Pack 10. The Pack fees cover part of what we need to run activities and events during the year, including materials for projects, food for campouts and the T-shirts our Cubs and Adult Den leaders will wear to Den meetings.
To become a new Scout, follow these steps:
- Apply with BSA: Go to beascout.org, click ‘cub scouts’, put your zip code in (or use 28031), and apply for pack 10. Then pay approximately $150.00, including an optional subscription to Boys Life Magazine ($15.00).
- Pay for Pack 10 new scout registration fees here. Siblings receive a $25 discount. A Pack 10 t-shirt is included with all new Scouts.
- Go to the Charlotte Scout Store or www.scoutshop.org to buy a uniform (see our Uniform Guide).
